I’ve been trying to replace my bearing, but my shop of choice (who will do it for $100) has a packed schedule, leaving me unable to actually get the replacement done.

I’d do it myself, but I don’t have access to a shop press, and the weather has been consistently terrible.

I called up some familiar shops in my area, each are wanting to charge me $250+ (price per wheel) just to replace the bearing...which is not too much short of what Mercedes-Benz would charge. These are the same shops who wanted to charge me $300+ to bolt on my new exhaust...when there was a shop down the street who did it for $80.

Here’s a little Fiat racing a Murcielago for your time :D

Check local parts stores like autozone. You can rent the jaw pullers. It’s not a hard job

I used a shop on N Ashland when my land rover decided to be itself. Its located at 5550 N Ashland at the Marathon Station. Normally, I completely dismiss gas station repair shops, but these guys had good reviews, and gave me good service.

Albany Auto at Rockwell and Irving Park. Very reasonable, source parts from multiple vendors, and stand behind their work. Great family owned shop.

Mercy Lago. You go. I go.

I don't know any shops. What's the sticking point that's holding you up from changing it? Bearing race won't come off?

There’s a great little independent shop in Villa Park, if that’s not too far.

Alrighty then! Check out Patterson’s Pit Stop, it’s on the corner of Harvard and Home, down the street from the police station. It’s a small 3-bay shop with 1-2 older guys there. Patterson is a really nice guy who charges very fair prices, and only does what work is needed. He stays plenty busy by word of mouth, so he has no need for BS work.
